چکیده
Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) is responsible for several food-borne outbreaks worldwide. In this study, tissue samples of finfish (tilapia, n = 100) and (mullet, 100), twenty human hand swabs from fish sellers fishermen were tested bacteriologically STEC presence. Isolates their antibiotic susceptibility examined the presence eaeA,stx1, stx2 genes. E. identified tissues (36.5% 12.5%) tilapia mullet, respectively; however, as high (60% 40%), respectively. Of recovered isolates, 25 presumptive (17 8 humans) yielded characteristic mauve-colored colonies on CHROMagar medium. The highest prevalence was in mullet freshwater Nile tributaries at 24% 48%, followed by farms 16% 12%, No isolated Suez Canal water saltwater farms. Recovered isolates belonged to 14 serotypes belonging (O121:H7, O113:H4, O119:H6, O128:H2, O153:H2, O91:H21, O26:H11, O44:H18, O146:H2, O55:H7, O124, O159, O78, O117: H4). (O26:H11, O15:H2, O121:H7, O119:H6). One or two Shiga-toxin (stx1 stx2) genes confirmed isolates. humans multi-drug resistant (MDR). This study reported a degree contamination Ismailia governorate with highlighted level antimicrobial resistance exhibited which very hazardous consumers.

Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) are important enteric pathogens worldwide, causing diarrhea with or without blood visibly present and hemolytic uremic syndrome. STEC are unique among diarrheogenic E coli in producing Shiga toxin type 1 and type 2, the virulence factors responsible for bloody diarrhea and hemolytic uremic syndrome. Cattle and other ruminants are the natural reservo...

Background & Objectives: Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) O157:H7 have emerged as pathogens that can cause food-borne infections and severe and potentially fatal illnesses in humans. E.coli O157:H7 colonizes the digestive tract of cattle and is transmitted to humans by food and water. The objectives of this study were to characterize the prevalence of E.coli O157:H7 isolates in ham...

The present study was conducted to detect the occurrence, serotype, genotype, phylogenetic relationship and antimicrobial resistance pattern of STEC from healthy goats of West Bengal, India. From the 125 faecal samples collected from healthy goats, 245 isolates were identified as Escherichia coli. The E. coli harbouring any gene for Shiga toxins (stx1/stx2) was detected in 36 (14.7%) of the 245...

The aim of this study was to identify virulent Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) strains isolated from faecal samples of 100 clinically healthy calves. In the present study, a total of 100 Escherichia coli (E. coli) isolates from clinically healthy calves belonging to 6 different farms located in Khorasan Razavi province, Iran, were examined for presence of virulence genes character...

Similar to ruminants, swine have been shown to be a reservoir for Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC), and pork products have been linked with outbreaks associated with STEC O157 and O111:H-. STEC strains, isolated in a previous study from fecal samples of late-finisher pigs, belonged to a total of 56 serotypes, including O15:H27, O91:H14, and other serogroups previously associated wi...
